Description
White rectangle enamelled copper necklace with colourful dots. To make this necklace, I cut a strip of copper and curled around one end. My aim was to have a different way to attach the cord to the pendant. I enamelled the rectangle in ivory enamel (creamy white enamel). I like ivory – it’s a warm white, but also gives great effects with other enamels. On the last firing I added a mixture of enamels. This has given dots and blobs of other colours. I think the dominant other colour is a bit pink/purple. The back of the necklace has been enamelled in ivory because the enamel on the back stops it warping too much in the kiln. The pendant is about 6cm by 1cm. It has a black waxed cotton cord with handmade copper t-bar type fixing. The cord is quite long because it can always be made shorter with a knot or scissors. The long bit of the fixing slides through the round bit. The fixing is pure copper without lacquer so will go darker with time.
