Copper necklace based on a genuine oak leaf with a black waxed cord and sold in a black presentation box. The copper has been lacquered

Description

Copper oak leaf necklace cut from sheet copper, hanging from black waxed cord.  This necklace is based on an oak leaf I found, which I used to create a template.  I cut the oak leaf shape out of sheet copper using a jeweller’s saw.  I then used blunt cold chisels and a hammer to make dents for veins.  After that I gave it a good polish.  It will be supplied in a black presentation box. The leaf has been coated with lacquer to try to keep the bright copper colour, but it may rub off with time and wear. The pendant is 4.5cm tall.

Sometimes I vary things a little.  For the latest leaf, I’ve added a copper T-bar clasp.  This isn’t lacquered so will got darker with time.  For the clasp, the swirly end slots into the round end.  If you want the necklace cord shorter you can always tie it with a knot.  The latest version also doesn’t have a knot in the cord near the copper oak leaf.
