Description
Pale blue trapezoid shaped enamelled copper earrings with colourful dots on surgical steel, allergy-safe earhooks. I made these earrings by enamelling trapezoid shapes with pale blue enamel. The trapezoid shape is a rectangle, but with the bottom slightly wider than the top. On the last firing I added a sprinkle of mixed colour enamel. This has given tiny colourful spots, with the most dominant colour being white. Using a mix means they are not fully identical. It also means they’re unique though, because I cannot reproduce the effect. The back of the earrings have been enamelled too in pale blue because the enamel on the back stops them warping too much in the kiln. They are about 3cm tall.
On the back of one of the earrings the enamel chipped as I was getting it off the stand used for the kiln. I don’t think it’s obvious.
