Description

Copper flower, based on a fuchsia, with a wooden base.  The base has been stained dark oak colour.  The flower is approx 18cm tall.  I’ve treated it with lacquer to try to keep the bright copper colour.

I made this fuchsia by cutting the petals, sepal and leaves from sheet copper, texturing them and then brazing them, plus the stamen, onto a copper wire stem.  Brazing can leave silvery marks and shaping the flower can also leave some marks.

The photo against a grass background is of my latest fuchsia.
