Bangle made from copper wire with aged copper colour patina. I made this bangle or bracelet starting by cutting a length of pure copper wire. I curled the ends then hammered it around a mandrel to get it round. This gives a light hammered texture that I like and makes the copper a little less soft. To give it an aged copper colour or patina, I used liver of sulphur. This gives a stable colour, but the shade varies every time I do it. The bangle I currently have in stock is not a very dark aged copper colour. I’d call it somewhere between milk and dark chocolate.
The copper has some flexibility which helps for getting it on and off and for sizing. I’ve found it also helps to twist it as you’re putting it on or off. It is sold in a black presentation box. About 4cm high, with a diameter of about 6.2cm, so a small adult wrist size.
