Description
Handmade hammered copper wire bangle or bracelet with aged copper colour patina. To make this bracelet, I cut a length of chunky copper wire then hammered it into a bracelet shape. This gives it some texture as well as making the copper a bit stiffer. I flare the ends a little to make it a bit more interesting. I then treated the copper with liver of sulphur solution to give an aged copper colour patina. The colour is somewhere between milk and dark chocolate, though every time I do it the colour varies.
The shape is more of an oval so it sits flatter against your wrist. The bangle has a little flexibility, which helps for getting it on and off, but it is stiffer than other bracelets I make. For getting it on and off, especially if you like a tighter fit, I suggest pushing the narrow part of your wrist through the gap. It is sold in a black presentation box.
These are the sizes I tend to make, though not all will be in stock (if you want a size, let me know) –
– Small has a diameter of about 6-6.5cm across the widest point
– Medium 6.5-7cm
– Large 7-7.5cm
– Very small 5.5-6mm
Some have more obvious hammer marks than others – mostly the hammer marks are quite subtle. Some are a little squarer cross section than others too. The bracelet is about 3mm tall.
Every item I make is unique, therefore the one you receive may differ a little from the one shown in the photo. The size can be bespoke – let me know roughly what size you would like. If you want a variation to this item, please get in touch because I can do custom orders. Also, please get in touch if you would like more information.
