Description
Interlocking bangle made from copper wire. It has a layer of lacquer to protect it, but this may rub off with time and wear. The copper has been lightly hammered.
I make this bangle or bracelet by twisting the ends of a length of copper wire into a loop. I then bend the wire into a round shape. The next step is a bit fiddly to lock the ends into each other. I lightly hammer it, which makes it a bit more rigid as well as a bit more interesting. To finish it, I polish it then lacquer it. It comes in a black presentation box.
I currently have these variations (the diameters are approx) –
– Very very small – diameter 5-5.5cm
– Very small – diameter 5.5-6cm
– Small – diameter 6cm
– Medium – diameter 6.5-7cm
– Large – diameter 7.2-8cm.
They are all slightly oval to sit better on your wrist. The bangle doesn’t open to help with getting it on and off – twisting the bangle to get it on or off seems to help. So it’s not too loose, it’s best if it is a tiny bit of a challenge to get it over your knuckles. The height of the knot is about 2.5cm maximum.
For a version without hammer marks I have –
