Description
Bangle made from copper wire with a double loop. The copper has some flexibility which helps for getting it on and off and for sizing. It is sold in a black presentation box. The height of the bangle or bracelet is 4 to 5cm at the maximum. It has lacquer to help protect it, but this may rub off with time and wear.
Currently I have 3 variations – small, medium and large. Small is about 6cm diameter, medium is 6.5cm diameter and large is 7cm diameter.
I’ve found the best way to get these on is to twist them as you’re putting them on or off.
I make this double loop bangle starting with copper wire. I cut a length and smooth the cut ends. Then I polish it. Using pliers to grip the copper, I twist the ends into circles. Once I have the ends shaped, I wrap the copper around a bracelet mandrel. This gives a round bangle. To make it a bit more interesting and a bit more rigid, I lightly hammer it. To finish the bangle, I polish it again, then lacquer it.
I’ve called it double loop because it has an extra loop of wire to my normal bracelets or bangles of this design.
